Automotive Technology I & II
Modern vehicles rely on advanced technology, computer systems, and precision engineering, and skilled technicians are the ones who keep them running. CTC’s Automotive Technology I and II program is built for students who love being in a shop environment, working with their hands, using tools, and diving into real vehicle repairs. Through daily hands on lab work, students actively diagnose problems, perform maintenance, and complete industry based repair tasks using state of the art equipment.
In Automotive Technology I, juniors get right into the action. Students perform oil changes and service inspections, service brake systems, repair engine components, and work on steering and suspension systems. They begin hands on training in electrical theory, HVAC systems, and manual and automatic transmissions, all while developing safe shop habits and strong workplace skills.
Seniors in Automotive Technology II take their skills to the next level with a strong focus on advanced diagnostics and repair. Students use scan tools to perform OBD diagnostics, troubleshoot electrical and computer systems, and test and repair ignition, fuel, and emission systems. They work with professional equipment such as auto lifts and a dynamometer for advanced performance testing, gaining experience that mirrors today’s automotive industry. Continued work with HVAC and drivetrain systems further strengthens their technical expertise. Dual or articulated college credit is available, helping students turn their passion for working on vehicles into a successful career pathway.
