AMI Learning Days (Snow Days)

2025-26 Alternative Methods of Instruction (AMI) Days Plan

The Fort Osage School District will implement an Alternative Methods of Instruction (AMI) Days Plan due to short-term closures such as inclement weather or utility outages. Families will receive communication from the District letting them know we will be implementing the AMI plan.

General Information

When it is necessary for the Fort Osage School District to implement an AMI School Day, students will engage directly, via a virtual platform, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm.  During this three hour instructional window, students will receive direct engagement with their CTC teacher in a variety of ways, more details will be found below.  Attendance will be taken on AMI Days. Students who do not complete the required assignment, and make contact with their instructor, will be counted absent for the day.

Career & Technology Center teachers will be available throughout the school day as with any traditional school day.  Teachers will hold students accountable for completing work in a variety of ways including collecting lesson artifacts or assignments the next class period, having students submit them electronically, or checking the log of electronic/web-based/app activities for completion.

  • If CTC programs located in the Fort Osage School District are on an AMI schedule and the sending school is in session, students will attend regular classes at their high school but will not come to CTC. Students will be responsible for participating in the CTC AMI Day Schedule outlined below during their standard CTC session (as their class schedule allows).

  • If the Fort Osage School District is in session and the sending school district is out of session due to inclement weather, students will not be required to attend CTC in person. However, students will be responsible for checking in with their teacher and making arrangements to complete any assigned work.
