About Us

Over 50 Years of Excellence

On Halloween in 1967, four students representing the Blue Springs, Fort Osage, Grain Valley, and Oak Grove school districts broke ground for the Fort Osage Vocational School. The center opened its doors the following year to students. Programs have come and gone, some reappearing to meet the evolving needs of industries and communities.

Today, the Career & Technology Center at Fort Osage is proud to offer 19 college and career-preparatory programs while serving over 500 students in the Eastern Jackson County area. It has grown to include not only it's primary campus at the Fort Osage School District complex, but also Entrepreneurial Studies at the student-run Campus Grounds Coffee Shop, Nail Technician at Hall-McCarter Education Center, and five programs located at the Blue Springs Career Innovation Center.
